國民黨內「換柱」的傳聞不斷，立法院長王金平今天（1號）又被媒體問到國民黨有沒有更換總統參選人的可能，王金平說他不清楚，黨內難免有一些聲音，洪秀柱是不是會「害到國民黨」他無法評論，也不知道有什麼手段可以撤銷洪秀柱的提名參選資格。
對於有黨籍立委抱怨王金平和副統吳敦義等人都沒有「動起來」強力輔選，王金平說，「我們也有在動，」就看黨中央最後怎麼安排。另一方面，王金平也認為，國民黨在中南部的選情確實沒有對手熱絡，希望國民黨新面孔的參選人可以努力打開的知名度。
王金平：『我們這邊必須要加緊努力，而且很多新人，到現在為止，他們的知名度還沒有打開，所以我一直希望他們想辦法，把自己的知名度能夠提升，讓大家了解到，某些人都已經代表國民黨出來選舉了。』
